Research
The 4th year UCLA medical students, as well as potential applicants to the anesthesiology residency program, have the opportunity to rotate through the anesthesiology department. During the rotation, students work in the operating room alongside residents and attendings. Additionally, rotating students participate in a series of structured didactic lectures and simulation sessions, designed to enhance the students’ skills and knowledge in the area of anesthesiology. Research opportunities are also available within the anesthesiology department. Medical students interested in a research rotation (Course name: Anesthesiology Research, course number: AN600) or volunteering for the department, must first contact Ceci Canales to make arrangements and discuss the student’s research interests and the projects that are available.
