Postdoctoral and graduate student positions are available to study signal transduction networks in normal and diseased cardiovascular systems. NIH-funded research projects ongoing include proteomic dissection of tyrosine kinase signaling in the heart and large scale investigation of protein interactions. Strong collaborations exist within the Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at UCLA, a group of >30 faculty with diverse research interests in cardiovascular biology (see heartlab). Successful post-doc candidates should have a PhD or MD with demonstrated research experience in the following areas: molecular biology, biochemistry, recombinant protein generation/purification, protein separation, and mass spectrometry. Individuals with strong credentials in protein chemistry or mass spectrometry but not both are encouraged to apply.
